The diminutive talent found himself on the edge of his range and opted to pass opportunities off, while otherwise putting his shots wide. His ability to swoop on the loose ball at speed made him a menace at stoppages, and he was just as potent on the lead with his pace and strong set of hands. Yeo\u2019s quick feet and creativity also made him a dangerous player when delivering the ball inside 50 as that connective high forward. He capped off a promising year with an huge speccy in the final term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n #7 <\/strong>James Artemis<\/a> Stats: <\/strong>17 disposals, 8 inside 50s<\/p>\n\n\n\n While expected to miss out on being among Tasmania’s first batch of signings, Artemis remains one of the top prospects for next year. The speedy midfielder was difficult to contain throughout four quarters, with his turn of foot and ability to burst out of stoppages catching the eye. Artemis adopted a surge style, driving his legs into open grass and side-stepping opponents before looking to deliver forward. While his kicking on the run was wayward at times, he proved capable of hitting sharp passes to leading targets. He’ll be a fun watch in 2026 and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n #10 <\/strong>Joshua Nathan<\/a> (Fremantle NGA)<\/strong> Stats: <\/strong>27 disposals, 7 marks, 4 tackles, 4 inside 50s, 2 goals<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nathan took out best on ground honours as the premiership captain, capping off an under-the-radar season which has yielded plenty of success. Relatively fresh off five League games, the Fremantle NGA hopeful accumulated on the inside and outside to lead all-comers with 27 touches. Most notably, he was a sound distributor by hand, never fumbling and using his mature frame to absorb pressure before releasing to teammates. He helped facilitate East Fremantle\u2019s in-to-out gamestyle and elevated his impact with forward-half possessions. Nathan contributed a couple of direct goal assists to add to his pair of goals in the opening and closing terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n #11 <\/strong>Hunter Hearn<\/a> Stats: <\/strong>17 disposals, 7 marks<\/p>\n\n\n\n Already a key cog and leader in East Fremantle\u2019s defence, Hearn was typically prominent as an interceptor. Whether occupying a high line or holding his own in one-on-one battles deep inside defensive 50, the bottom-ager showcased superior reading of the play and was reliably clean overhead. While tending to play taller, he was a trusted distributor for his side and injected power with his ball-winning efforts at ground level. He can continue to elevate that run and drive on the back of his interceptions, but plays with plenty of purpose and desperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n #15 <\/strong>Marcus Motton<\/a> Stats: <\/strong>18 disposals, 6 marks, 4 inside 50s, 1 goal<\/p>\n\n\n\n A player who tends to pop up in flashes, Motton had plenty of eye-catching moments on Sunday. A rangy and athletic wingman, he showed his aerial craft with several slick marks, plucking the ball nicely overhead and even flying third-up on occasion. Mainly, he facilitated outside run with his innate timing on the overlap and willingness to combine with teammates. He looked stylish when striding forward and slotted an absolute bomb from 50 metres to highlight his effortless skill. Motton was just as willing to track back, as any wingman should, and has plenty of nice traits to work with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n #28\/30 <\/strong>Oscar Richardson<\/a> Stats: <\/strong>11 disposals, 5 marks, 2 goals<\/p>\n\n\n\n Richardson started in the number 30 guernsey before switching to 28 after half time. Among a sea of marking targets inside East Fremantle\u2019s forward half, he joined in on the act with his nimble movement around the ground and springy aerial game. The bottom-ager struck with a nice mark and goal right on quarter time, going on to add another on the other side of the first break. His ability to gain separation and leap into marks took the eye, acting as an athletic connection piece up the ground. His speed was evident with a couple of chase efforts, suggesting he has the versatility to play tall and small. One to watch for next year with plenty of upside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n #32 <\/strong>Noah Hannaford<\/a> Stats: <\/strong>14 disposals, 8 marks, 6 hitouts, 6 inside 50s<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another mobile tall in East Fremantle\u2019s forwardline, Hannaford also provided a chop-out in the ruck. At 195cm, he leapt typically strongly but was nimble in open play and had enough speed to gain separation on the lead. The bottom-ager reliably took the ball with his hands out in front, and while he couldn\u2019t find reward on the scoreboard, was a key piece in the Sharks\u2019 attacking chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n #33 <\/strong>Kye Ormerod<\/a> Stats: <\/strong>9 disposals, 4 marks, 3 goals<\/p>\n\n\n\n Having missed much of the year through a hand injury – evident by heavy protection and strapping – Ormerod wasn’t to be denied on the big stage. He capped off a season in which he kicked multiple goals in all bar one game, booting three on Sunday. The reliable goalkicker started out with an outrageous checkside finish from the boundary and later went on to kick another from a forward-50 stoppage. Ormerod was willing to follow-up hard at ground level and bring others into the game, offering great presence inside 50. He slotted a more conventional set shot goal in the final quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n #39 <\/strong>Cooper Ramsay<\/a> Stats: <\/strong>8 disposals, 25 hitouts<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ramsay showed plenty of positive signs in the ruck, as he has done with a much-needed uninterrupted run this season. The over-ager used his superior size and reach to advantage, comfortably leading the hitout count against quite athletic adversaries. He was competitive when required, pouncing to lay tackles and flying the flag for his teammates. Ramsay\u2019s mobility was evident with each of his eight touches, as he distributed the ball calmly by hand to help forge stoppage exits. The upside is there, with plenty of development left to make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n SOUTH FREMANTLE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n #1 <\/strong>Cameron Maynard<\/a> Stats: <\/strong>9 disposals, 4 inside 50s, 3 behinds<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once again facing attention from Sharks defender Lachlan Gould<\/strong>, Maynard was restricted to just two touches in the first half. He tends to find a way to impact though, and used all his pace and smarts to do so. The crafty forward attacked the loose ball with vigour and used that same intent when hunting the opposition, proving to be a panic-inducing pressure player. His ability to work up the ground and be that connective forward was also useful to South’s cause. Maynard is usually a deadly finisher but ended up with 0.3 on Sunday, not for a lack of effort. It just wasn\u2019t his day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n #2 <\/strong>Zac Godwin<\/a> Stats: <\/strong>18 disposals, 7 marks, 5 tackles, 3 inside 50s<\/p>\n\n\n\n Godwin was one of his side\u2019s best battlers all day, working relentlessly hard both ways. He was busy mopping up the spills across South\u2019s defensive half and turning them into attacks, using his speed and sharp short kicks to do so. Godwin became increasingly aggressive in that respect as the game wore on, driving his legs through the corridor and helping move the ball from end-to-end. He often took the matchup on Yeo and did his best to shut him down one-on-one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n #5 <\/strong>Jack McAuliffe<\/a> Stats: <\/strong>13 disposals, 6 tackles, 1 goal<\/p>\n\n\n\n McAuliffe got his side off to a terrific start with his snap goal to open the scoring. That moment was a sighter for his stoppage work throughout the game, as the Bulldogs co-captain stayed active and on his toes. McAuliffe looked to surge the ball forward at all costs, often bursting clear of congestion and thumping a kick long to compound his metres-gained. He also fought well in one-on-one situations, with a prime example being his holding the ball tackle on the opposition skipper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n #11 <\/strong>Heath Wilson<\/a> Stats: <\/strong>14 disposals, 3 marks, 3 tackles, 3 behinds<\/p>\n\n\n\n Along with Maynard, Wilson\u2019s day could have ended differently if a few of his attempts on goal went through. He had back-to-back snapshots in the opening term and another in the second which went wide, but showed his ability to stay dangerous on his forward rotation. The state representative was typically strong around the contest with his ball-winning and tackling acumen, while utilising his darting left-foot kicking to compliment his clean handball distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
