(Photo: WA Football)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>VIC COUNTRY<\/strong>\u00a0finished third, with their only victory coming against rivals <strong>Vic Metro<\/strong> in the opening round at Simonds Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Murray Bushrangers forward <strong>Hudson Garoni<\/strong> was a crucial figure inside 50, kicking nine goals for the carnival, including a bag of five against <strong>Vic Metro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Irving Mosquito<\/strong> showed a good bust of speed and agility, using his left foot well throughout the carnival.<\/p>\n<p>Bendigo Pioneers midfield <strong>Jye Caldwell<\/strong> was the clear standout for Vic Country and was awarded their MVP. The 179cm midfielder from Calder Cannons worked hard on the inside and used his strength to clear the ball in stoppages. West also has a good enough burst away from the stoppage and hits targets on either foot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Curtis Taylor<\/strong> also had glimpses showing his agility across the half forward flank, while <strong>Joel Crocker<\/strong> (son of North Melbourne assistant coach Darren)\u00a0spent most of the carnival across half back.<\/p>\n<p>Two <strong>Sandringham Dragons<\/strong> key position players loom as early picks in 2018, in a similar mould to 2015 draftees <em>Harry and Ben McKay<\/em>. Twins <strong>Max<\/strong> and <strong>Ben King<\/strong> were vital players throughout the carnival for Metro at either ends of the ground.<\/p>\n<p>197cm key forward Max kicked six goals for the carnival, also pinch hitting in the ruck at stages.
