The SANFL U18 Competition had a bye, while week two of the Div 1 School Competition continued. We take a look at who the top performers were across the grades:

League:

Mitch Crowden (Sturt) playing through half forward, with bursts through the midfield, had 12 disposals including a great clearance and long kick to a forward target for a goal assist in their win over West Adelaide. Sturt are expected to use Crowden a bit more up the ground to use his elite efficiency as a weapon.

Glenelg, including Alex Martini and Darcy Fogarty, got pumped by Woodville-West Torrens. Martini had 17 disposals playing off half back, and worked into the game in the second half and really gave some defensive rebounding run as well a couple of inside 50s to be named in Glenelg’s best players. Fogarty was quieter with some midfield time and also playing up forward – where Glenelg struggled to get the ball, finishing with just the eight disposals.

Reserves:

Andrew McPherson had 15 disposals for the Eagles and was tidy but injury may strike down the prospect for the next few weeks. Adelaide father-son prospect Jackson Edwards (Glenelg) had 17 disposals including 6 tackles, Norwood’s Lachie Pascoe and Stefan Giro had the bye.

U18s:
This was a bye round for all U18 teams

School Football (Messenger Shield):

A number of State Squad members were again on display in school football. Prince Alfred College were comprehensive winners over Rostrevor 13.13 to 3.9, to remain undefeated. PAC comprising of five State squad members (U18 and U16) were impressive with a good performance from all potentials, and seemed to have the composure to control the game. Rostrevor with six State Squad members (U18 and U16s) but missing Darcy Fogarty, who played League for Glenelg, couldn’t really break through the PAC defence.
