With the SANFL completing round eight\u00a0over the weekend, 2017 South Australian draft talent was on show at Reserves and Under 18s Level. Players selected in the\u00a0South Australia Under 18 squad for Round one didn’t play over the weekend, while the Div 1 School Competition continued. League: Reserves: U18s: School Footy(Messenger Shield):<\/strong><\/p>\n The three SA Squad members playing for Prince Alfred College (PAC) also pressed their claims. Key forward Hugo Barry<\/strong> was impressive at full forward with a number of contested marks, and was damaging when the ball hit the ground, kicking 8.7, handing off a few as well. Barry’s dominance could’ve easily seen him reach double figures in the goal category had he kicked straight. PAC Captain Cole Gerloff<\/strong> also dominated through the midfield and set up a number fo inside 50s. \nMitch Crowden<\/strong> (Sturt), Alex Martini<\/strong> (Glenelg) and Darcy Fogarty<\/strong> (Glenelg) all trained with the SA\u00a0Under 18 state team.<\/p>\n

\nAfter winning the Torrens Uni MVP for the U18s last weekend with 33 disposals and three\u00a0goals, West Adelaide’s\u00a0Josh Smithson<\/strong> was promoted to the Reserves, having\u00a0three scoring shots on goal. Cooper Gaffney<\/strong> (Eagles) also had 21 disposals as well as\u00a0eight tackles. Corey Smith<\/strong> (Norwood) had 14 disposals with two goals.<\/p>\n

\nLuke Bogle<\/strong> (South Adelaide) was also dominating in\u00a0their 100-point win over Glenelg, with 156 Dream team points, from his 39 disposals, eight marks and a goal to be the Round 8 Torrens Uni MVP nominee. Job Colwell<\/strong> (South Adelaide) kicked\u00a0five\u00a0goals from his 21 disposals, impressive all day. In the Woodville-West Torrens\u00a021-point loss to North Adelaide, Jake Weidemann <\/strong>was good with 23 disposals, seven\u00a0tackles and seven\u00a0marks, unluckily missing\u00a0the SA squad for round one. For North Adelaide, underager Boyd Woodcock<\/strong> was among the best with his 27 disposals and 10 clearances. Sturt\u2019s Ed Allan<\/strong> was again prolific after his MVP nomination a few\u00a0weeks ago with 42 disposals, two goals and 160 dream team points. Norwood big man James Siviour<\/strong> had 19 disposals, 11 marks and 29 hitouts to be among his teams best players. 195cm tall Ryan Falkenberg<\/strong> (Central District) was also dominating – rebounding well\u00a0through the middle with 25 disposals, three\u00a0goals, 12 marks and 10 inside 50s in a comprehensive performance.<\/p>\n
