With round two\u00a0of the SANFL Competition continuing\u00a0over the weekend, 2017 South Australian draft talent was on show at League, Reserves and U18 Level. We take a look at who the top performers were across the grades:<\/p>\n
League:<\/strong><\/p>\n Alex Martini<\/strong>\u00a0(Glenelg) made a solid contribution to his teams 61-point demolition of Sturt, finishing the day with 17 disposals and five marks. He rebounded the ball well from defence with six rebound 50s, while teammate\u00a0Jonty Scharenberg<\/strong>\u00a0laid eight tackles in a strong performance in the midfield. For Sturt,\u00a0Mitch Crowden<\/strong>\u00a0backed up his round one performance collecting 14 disposals and laying six tackles to be named in their best.<\/p>\n Reserves:<\/strong><\/p>\n Lachie Pascoe<\/strong>\u00a0(Norwood) was named in the best with a 26 disposal and eight\u00a0marks game. Pascoe is a great reader of the ball and it was his rebound from defence that helped keep Norwood in the game. Also contributing for Norwood were onballers\u00a0Stefan Giro<\/strong>\u00a0(19 disposals) and\u00a0Isaac Hewson<\/strong>\u00a0(18 disposals). For Glenelg,\u00a0Brad McCarthy<\/strong>\u00a0chipped in with 11 disposals mainly across half forward.<\/p>\n U18s:<\/strong><\/p>\n Notables for the round include:\u00a0Cooper Gaffney<\/strong>\u00a0(Woodville-West Torrens) with 37 disposals including eight\u00a0tackles in a best on ground performance versus West Adelaide\u00a0\u2013 after being second best last week. Ably supported by\u00a0James Rowe<\/strong>\u00a0with 26 disposals and two\u00a0goals.\u00a0Josh Smithson<\/strong>\u00a0(West Adelaide) was amongst the best with 23 disposals, seven\u00a0marks and one goal, as was\u00a0Alex Stidiford<\/strong>\u00a0with a good all round performance with 21 disposals, two\u00a0goals and seven\u00a0tackles.<\/p>\n Glenelg\u2019s\u00a0Henry Papatolis<\/strong>\u00a0had 11 tackles with 19 disposals to get in\u00a0the bests in the win over Norwood. Bottom-ager\u00a0Sam Whitbread<\/strong>\u00a0was South Adelaide\u2019s\u00a0best in their win over Sturt with 22 disposals, nine\u00a0tackles and one goal. For Sturt,\u00a0Adam Trenorden<\/strong>\u00a0backed up his round one\u00a0MVP form with another 33 disposal game including eight\u00a0tackles, as well as\u00a0Jordy Aitchson\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a028 disposals (including 20 kicks and eight tackles).<\/p>\n In a close match between Centrals and North Adelaide it was the\u00a0bottom-agers leading the way. Returning from the AFL Academy game the week before\u00a0Jackson Hately<\/strong>\u00a0(Centrals) had 33 disposals including one goal, and North\u2019s\u00a0Connor Rozee<\/strong>\u00a0played the complete game with 39 disposals \u2013 six marks, 11 tackles and one goal.\u00a0Cooper Dahms<\/strong>\u00a0for Centrals was also dominant with 29 disposals , eight\u00a0marks, eight\u00a0tackles and one goal.<\/p>\n Callum Coleman-Jones<\/strong>,\u00a0Darcy Fogarty<\/strong>,\u00a0Jordan Houlahan<\/strong>,\u00a0Andrew McPherson<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Thomas Schmusch<\/strong>\u00a0represented the AFL Academy in their game against the Northern Blues VFL team on Saturday and will make their return to SANFL football this weekend.<\/p>\n
