For the first time since September, the top TAC Cup athletes will take to the field in a brand new season where each team is on level pegging and stars are ready to shine. From the opening night tomorrow night through to Sunday&#8217;s clashes in Geelong and Richmond, there is sure to be no shortage of action across the weekend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WESTERN JETS v. CALDER CANNONS\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Round 1 &#8211; Friday, March 23, 7pm<br \/>RAMS Arena, Craigieburn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A great spectacle will take place on Friday night with the Calder Cannons meeting the Western Jets under lights at RAMS Arena. Cannons fans remember the heartache at the hands of Eastern Ranges last year, but Calder should be well placed to have a real crack at winning the game. The Jets on paper look quite exciting with <strong>Zak Butters<\/strong> and <strong>Emerson Jeka<\/strong> the two main men in the forward line, while the half-back line of <strong>Oskar Manton<\/strong>, <strong>Buku Khamis<\/strong> and <strong>Stefan Radovanovic<\/strong> catches the eye. Others to watch include <strong>Connor Thar<\/strong>, <strong>Xavier O&#8217;Halloran<\/strong> and <strong>Darcy Cassar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For the Cannons, the midfield looks bulked up with AFL AIS Academy members <strong>Jack Bytel<\/strong> and <strong>Rhylee West<\/strong> joining the experienced <strong>Mitch Podhajski<\/strong> on-ball. <strong>Curtis Taylor<\/strong> will rove to <strong>Daniel Hanna<\/strong> up forward, while Essendon fans will be keen to watch <strong>Mason Fletcher<\/strong> at full-back. The Chargers have plenty of talented bottom agers with <strong>Noah Anderson<\/strong>, <strong>Matt Rowell<\/strong> and <strong>Dylan Williams<\/strong> all named in the side, while 19 year-old <strong>Noah Answerth<\/strong> and the bulked-up <strong>Riley Collier-Dawkins<\/strong> will provide some serious grunt on the inside. Collingwood fans have two reasons to watch the Chargers on Saturday &#8211; <strong>Isaac Quaynor<\/strong> (member of the Pies&#8217; Next Generation Academy) and <strong>Will Kelly<\/strong> (father-son prospect) are both lining up.<\/p>\n<p>For Eastern, <strong>Ben Cardamone<\/strong> will line up in the back pocket, while the midfield consists of <strong>Kye Quirk<\/strong>, <strong>Adrian Kalcovski<\/strong> and <strong>Cody Hirst<\/strong> who will all be watched by fans and recruiters alike. BENDIGO PIONEERS\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Round 1 &#8211; Saturday, March 24, 2pm<br \/>MARS Stadium, Ballarat<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Heading up north, the Greater Western Victoria (GWV) Rebels open their account against Bendigo Pioneers at home. In the corresponding game last year, it was the Pioneers that got the win, but the Rebels will be keen to hand out some payback this time around. Top Rebels prospect <strong>Tom Berry<\/strong> will be fresh after missing half of last season through injury, while <strong>Scott Carlin<\/strong> will provide run out of defence. <strong>Jed Hill<\/strong> and <strong>Charlie Wilson<\/strong> will provide some speed at ground level, roving to <strong>Tylar Watts<\/strong> and <strong>Josh Chatfield<\/strong>. Bottom-ager <strong>Izaac Grant<\/strong> is one to watch, however one player missing from the line-up is <strong>Matty Lloyd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For Bendigo, <strong>Jacob Atley<\/strong> and <strong>Bailey Henderson<\/strong> are a couple of great ball users coming out of defence, while <strong>Brodie Kemp<\/strong> is one to watch at centre-half back. Further up the field,<strong> Liam Marciano<\/strong> is playing off a flank, while <strong>Will Holt<\/strong> will rotate with <strong>Daine Grace<\/strong> coming off the bench in attack. <strong>Noah Wheeler<\/strong> showed some signs last season since crossing from the Rebels and will be keen to impress this time around.
