DANDENONG Stingrays’ hot start to the TAC Cup season has got even better with twelve Stingrays in the finalised Vic Country squad for the upcoming National Under 18 Championships. First round talents Bailey Williams<\/strong>, Riley Bowman<\/strong> and Mitch Riordan<\/strong> are all in the side, as is the speedy Zac Foot<\/strong> and Jai Nanscawen<\/strong> and top five bottom-age prospect Hayden Young<\/strong>.<\/div>\n

Geelong Falcons have eight players in the final 42-man squad, meaning almost half of the players in Vic Country are Stingrays or Falcons. Gippsland Power has a remarkable three bottom-agers and one over-ager in the side from seven representatives, while Murray Bushrangers have five. Greater Western Victoria (GWV) Rebels and Bendigo Pioneers have three nominees each.<\/div>\n

Ones to watch include Geelong duo Sam Walsh<\/strong> and Ned McHenry<\/strong> who form a formidable midfield combination with Riordan, while Gippsland captain Xavier Duursma<\/strong> and Bendigo talent Jye Caldwell<\/strong> are among others to keep an eye on. Thomas Berry<\/strong> could be one to watch if he gets to full fitness, while Irving Mosquito<\/strong> and Zane Barzen<\/strong> are others who create something out of nothing up forward. Vic Country kicks off its championships with a match on June 9 against the Allies, followed by tames against South Australia, Vic Metro and Western Australia across June.<\/div>\n
