IN the first of two double headers in Victoria, the Round 4 teams are in for the National Under 18 Championships which take place at GMHBA Stadium. Vic Country will play its final game of the carnival, hoping to get a win against fellow winless side Western Australia, while South Australia will hope to maintain its unbeaten streak and play off in a \u201cgrand final\u201d against Vic Metro in the final round when the Croweaters take on the Allies.<\/p>\n

ALLIES VS. SOUTH AUSTRALIA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Friday, June 29, 2.10pm<\/strong>
GMHBA Stadium, Geelong<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the second clash, the Allies will face South Australia in lieu of keeping their slim National Under 18s Championships title hopes alive. They will need to win their two remaining games and hope South Australia beat Vic Metro, but also have enough percentage to overtake the Croweaters who dominated Western Australia in the opening round. The Allies have made seven changes to the squad that was terribly unlucky against Vic Metro, and brought in some fresh legs.\u00a0Connor Budarick<\/strong>,\u00a0Joshua Stern<\/strong>,\u00a0Rhyan Mansell<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Caleb Graham<\/strong>\u00a0all come into the team and slot up forward in a different looking set-up, while\u00a0Guy Richardson<\/strong>\u00a0sets up at half-back and\u00a0Jesse Quint<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Joey Reinhard<\/strong>\u00a0have been named on the bench.\u00a0Baxter Norton<\/strong>,\u00a0Blair Rubock<\/strong>,\u00a0Ethan Jackson<\/strong>,\u00a0James Peatling<\/strong>,\u00a0Lachlan McDonald<\/strong>,\u00a0Matt McGuiness<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0James Tomkinson<\/strong>\u00a0are listed as the outs. McGuiness and\u00a0Michael Mummery<\/strong>\u00a0are the two emergencies for the match.<\/p>\n

For South Australia, the Croweaters have brought an extended squad to Victoria, with\u00a0Jacob Collins<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Mihail Lochowiak<\/strong>\u00a0on standby for the clash against the Allies. The four ins are big ball-winner\u00a0Boyd Woodcock<\/strong>, ruckman\u00a0James Siviour<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 who has battled with injuries \u2013 defender\u00a0Aaron Nietschke<\/strong>\u00a0and over-age forward\u00a0Oscar Chapman<\/strong>. The quartet replace\u00a0Tate Coleman<\/strong>,\u00a0Jake Tarca<\/strong>, the injured\u00a0James Braidwood<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Job Colwell<\/strong>\u00a0in the side. South Australia are likely to set-up a \u201cgrand final\u201d with Vic Metro regardless of result given their superior percentage, but a win here would mathematically knock the Allies out of the race.<\/p>\n

Vic Country have made four changes at the selection table, bringing in six players to create an extended bench ahead of the clash with Western Australia tomorrow. Two debutants come into the side in Bendigo Pioneers\u2019\u00a0Brodie Kemp<\/strong>, and Murray Bushrangers\u2019\u00a0Ely Smith<\/strong>. The inside midfielder was a late call-up this week to the squad after initially missing the cut. But with injuries to\u00a0Jye Caldwell<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Mitch Riordan<\/strong>, and superb TAC Cup form, Smith makes it into the team. He is joined in there by\u00a0Brock Smith<\/strong>,\u00a0Matty Lloyd<\/strong>\u00a0and Bushrangers teammates\u00a0Zane Barzen<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Hudson Garoni<\/strong>\u00a0who bounced back from missing last week with good form in the TAC Cup. The injured Riordan is out along with bottom-ager\u00a0Caleb Serong<\/strong>, as well as\u00a0Jake Frawley<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Blake Schlensog<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For Western Australia, they have had a couple of weeks off to lick their wounds from two early losses and now return with the clash at GMHBA Stadium.\u00a0Jason Carter<\/strong>\u00a0returns to the side which will give Dockers fans something to smile about with the Fremantle Next Generation Academy member named on the wing. He is joined in the side by defenders\u00a0Jake Pasini<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Louis Miller<\/strong>, as well as\u00a0Thomas Baldwin<\/strong>,\u00a0Tyron Smallwood<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Tom Medhat<\/strong>, all of whom have been named on the bench.\u00a0Ethan Hansen<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Luke Moore<\/strong>\u00a0are the two emergencies in the squad of 25 the Black Swans have brought over.
