Collingwood is now the only undefeated side in the competition, but sides like Hawthorn are hot on their tails. To catch up, many teams have made some crucial changes to snatch a round nine victory.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>CASEY DEMONS v. SOUTHERN SAINTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Round 9 \u2013 07\/07\/2018<br \/><\/strong><strong>11:30AM<br \/><\/strong><strong>Casey Fields<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Demons will take on the Saints this weekend in the first match of round nine. The Demons had a strong performance last week but are still to bring in some important new talent for this round. This includes former Vic Country Captain, <strong>Darcy Guttridge<\/strong>, who will return to the backline. Other ins include Eastern Rangers junior, <strong>Melanie Hogg<\/strong> who has been moved from the emergency list into the starting 22 for the first time this season. <strong>Jemma Turner<\/strong> will also pull on the blue and red jumper in her debut. <strong>Amy Harrison<\/strong> will also return this week alongside <strong>Taryn Orgill\u00a0<\/strong>and AFLW Academy member, <strong>Brooke Struylaart<\/strong>. These players will have big shoes to fill, with AFLW talents, <strong>Harriet Cordner<\/strong> and <strong>Catherine Phillips<\/strong> named out.<\/p>\n<p>The Saints have made six changes to their line-up following their bye last round. They have brought <strong>Kayla Ripari, Amy Silver<\/strong> and <strong>Ashleigh Allsopp<\/strong> from the emergency list to the starting 22, while Sandringham midfielder, <strong>Eleanor Brown<\/strong>, Dandenong Stingrays pair, <strong>Courtney Jones<\/strong> and <strong>Shelley Heath<\/strong> and Eastern Ranges duo, <strong>Charlotte Wilson<\/strong> and <strong>Gabriella De Angelis<\/strong> to the sidelines due to the AFL Women&#8217;s Under 18 Championships. The round nine clash will be held at Thunder\u2019s fortress, TIO Stadium, and the side has made eight changes ahead of the game. Captain, <strong>Angela Foley<\/strong> has been named in the mix for Saturday\u2019s game alongside former Adelaide Crows AFLW teammate, <strong>Tayla Thorn<\/strong>. Thunder has also named an exciting debutant for round nine, welcoming former NTFL Waratah and premiership player, <strong>Sharona Bishop<\/strong> to the field. Sharona\u2019s endurance and running is sure to set her apart when she comes up against the Cats this week as 23rd player, as she has trained as part of the Indigenous Marathon Project. Also in this week are <strong>Kristy Irvine, Deni Varnhagen, Katie Streader, Machaelia Roberts<\/strong> and <strong>Jessica Sedunary.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Geelong Cats have named three ins for their round nine team. AFLW ruck, <strong>Erin Hoare<\/strong>\u00a0is a significant out for the Cats this week, as she will be leaving big shoes to fill. For the round nine match they have welcomed back their skipper, <strong>Emma Mackie<\/strong> who should bring experience and leadership back to the line-up. On the other side of the spectrum, the Hawks will also be bringing in Whitehorse junior,<strong> Abbey Tanner<\/strong>, who will bring enthusiasm and fresh legs when she debuts in the ruck. <strong>Alison Dowler<\/strong> and <strong>Dianna Haines<\/strong> have also been named in.<\/p>\n<p>Williamstown will be relying on plenty of new faces to deliver when they come up against the Hawks on Saturday. The Bombers have made four changes going into round nine, bringing in <strong>Irena Malliaras, Chloe Laan<\/strong> and <strong>Alex Quigley<\/strong>. Oakleigh Chargers ruck, <strong>Bridie Winbanks<\/strong> has been named as the 23rd player. Important key forward, <strong>Danielle Ponter<\/strong> will miss the clash due to the AFL Women&#8217;s Under 18 Championships alongside <strong>Elizabeth Kearney<\/strong> and AFLW defender,<strong>Tanya Hetherington,\u00a0<\/strong>who have also been named out.<\/p>\n<p>The Tigers have made a few changes in the lead up to the round nine game.
