Lattanzi<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After leading at half time, Coolangatta Tweed did not score during the second half, as the Red Lions hit their straps and kicked six second half goals. <\/span><b>Marnie McGorm <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was the hero for the University of Queensland, booting through four of her side\u2019s eight majors. She was complemented by majors from <\/span><b>Rachael Vetter, Maddison Wood, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brisbane AFLW player, <\/span><b>Sharni Webb <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and Queensland Under-18 captain, <\/span><b>Natalie Grider. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">McGorm, Webb and Grider were all named in the best as well for the winning side, and will have a chance to back up their efforts next week in a do-or-die preliminary final. Both teams kicked four goals but the Gorillas\u2019 superior behinds got them over the line. <\/span><b>Maddison Peeters, Michaela Campbell, Courtney Daniec <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and Queensland Under 18 representative, <\/span><b>Jacqueline Yorston <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">were the goal kickers for Wilston Grange. Coorparoo\u2019s goals came from Brisbane AFLW forward, <\/span><b>Jess Wuetschner, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">QWAFL leading goal kicker, <\/span><b>Jenae Govan, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Queensland Under 18 player, <\/span><b>Jesse Tawhiao-Wardlaw <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Laura Blue. Emma Gibson <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was judged best afield for the losing side while Queensland Under 18 duo, <\/span><b>Jade Ellenger <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Tori Groves-Little <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">were in the mix. State teammate, <\/span><b>Isabel Dawes <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">featured in the Gorillas\u2019 win and could play a key role in the Grand Final.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>QWAFA Division One:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aspley Hornets 9.5 (59) defeated Coorparoo 2.1 (13)<br \/>Burleigh 7.5 (47) defeated Moreton Bay 1.7 (13)<\/p>\n<p>In a remarkable round of finals action, two upsets occurred in the semi-finals stage, with second placed Aspley Hornets moving through to the Grand Final after toppling minor premiers Coorparoo by 46 points, while fifth placed Burleigh stunned third placed Moreton Bay, with a 34-point win, to knock the Lions out of the flag race. Four goals from <strong>Kylie Guarino<\/strong> was the standout performer for the Hornets, named best on ground for her impressive forward haul. <strong>Anna Van De Wiel<\/strong> and<strong> Teegan Stevenson<\/strong> were also named among the winners best, while for Coorparoo, <strong>Matilda Ingram<\/strong> was the top player. In the other game, Burleigh had emphatic win over Moreton Bay, booting three goals in the last term to run out comfortable winners and move through to the preliminary final.
