VICTORIA’S top Under-16 female talent has been announced ahead of the a couple of clashes next month. Vic Metro will face New South Wales \/ Australian Capital Territory (NSW\/ACT) at Albury from 10am on Sunday, June 9 over the long weekend, before facing Vic Country at Avalon Airport Oval from 12pm on Saturday, June 22. The squads that have been named include 26 players from Vic Country and 25 from Vic Metro which will be trimmed to 22 each prior to the matches. All players selected are of 2003-birth, meaning their draft year will be in 2021.<\/p>\r\n

Calder Cannons and Greater Western Victoria (GWV) Rebels have six nominees in the team each, while Geelong Falcons and Northern Knights have five apiece. For the likes of Calder’s Georgie Prespakis<\/strong>, Tahlia Gillard<\/strong>, Peppa Poultney<\/strong>, Emelia Yassir<\/strong> and Kasey Lennox<\/strong>, and Northern’s Maykaylah Appleby<\/strong>, Zara Flanigan<\/strong>, Mia Papachristos<\/strong>, Jessica Simpson<\/strong> and Teleah Smart<\/strong>, they have a NAB League Grand Final on the weekend, already making their mark on their respective teams in season 2019. Other players who have impressed this season after graduating through the V\/Line Cup include Bendigo Pioneers’ Tara Slender<\/strong>, Dandenong Stingrays’ Georgia Grimmer<\/strong>, and GWV Rebels’ Nyakoat Dojiok<\/strong>. For Metro, talented dual sport athlete Tess Flintoff<\/strong> has had a terrific year, while Charlie Rowbottom<\/strong> and Charli Murphy<\/strong> are others who have shown good signs and hit the scoreboard.<\/p>\r\n
