With fixture shuffling and plenty of football to be played in the coming fortnight, some players lifting their level at a great time.

Two players topped multiple categories over the weekend, with Geelong Falcons defender Annie Lee putting in a Draft Central Player of the Week performance, and Bendigo Pioneers’ Tara Slender returning with a bang after she missed a week due to the new concussion protocols.

Lee led the competition for kicks (19) and rebound 50s (10) in a dominant display from defence, while Slender mixed her time between multiple roles to accumulate round highs in disposals (27) and marks (10). Lee was not far behind Slender with 22 touches and eight marks, as Slender fell just short of Lee’s kick record with 18.

Both players had teammates also feature on the stat leaders list, with Ash Van Loon (Geelong) and Jemma Finning (Bendigo) working hard during their respective outings. Van Loon laid a monstrous 15 tackles to bring her season average close to 10, while Finning finished level with Tasmania’s Ella Maurer on a round-high 12 handballs.

Elsewhere, Northern Knights forward Megan Girolami dominated inside 50 against Gippsland with six goals, but saw the Power’s Grace Matser achieve a top hitout count of 23 in the same game. Dynamic Dandenong prospect Emily Shepherd ranked highest for inside 50s (nine), rounding out the Round 4 stat leaders.

ROUND 4 STAT LEADERS

Disposals:
Tara Slender (Bendigo Pioneers) – 27

Kicks:
Annie Lee (Geelong Falcons) – 19

Handballs:
Jemma Finning (Bendigo Pioneers) – 12
Ella Maurer (Tasmania Devils) – 12

Marks:
Tara Slender (Bendigo Pioneers) – 10

Tackles:
Ash Van Loon (Geelong Falcons) – 15

Inside 50s:
Emily Shepherd (Dandenong Stingrays) – 9

Rebound 50s:
Annie Lee (Geelong Falcons) – 10

Hitouts:
Grace Matser (Gippsland Power) – 23

Goals:
Megan Girolami (Northern Knights) – 6

ROUND 4 of the 2021 NAB League Girls season again saw six high quality games completed, with top performers from five of the fixtures and six different teams leading the stat charts this weekend.
