The highly contested nature of the game led to plenty of stoppages, giving viewers ample opportunity to see Victorian pick one fancies <\/span><b>Charlie Rowbottom <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Georgie Prespakis <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">line up head-to-head, each winning their fair share of clearances and ball around the ground.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Chargers were buoyed by a great all-round team performance; Rowbottom was a big influence through the midfield and up forward, with teammate <\/span><b>Amanda Ling <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also rotating through the two areas of the ground to great effect. <\/span><b>Stella Reid <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Sarah Morley <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">both kicked two majors when goals were hard to come by. <\/span><b>Caitlin Matthews <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Erin Woodford <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">worked well in tandem in the defensive 50 for the Chargers, both winning crucial contests in the final term.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Calder, it was a lot of the usual suspects stepping up; Prespakis, <\/span><b>Emelia Yassir <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Zali Friswell <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">were again influential around the ground, working hard to assist their team in defence. <\/span><b>Abbey McDonald <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was played in all thirds of the ground and continued to be a strong contributor wherever she ended up, and winger <\/span><b>Mali McLeod <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">had one of her best performances to date. <\/span><b>Kasey Lennox <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was instrumental in defence for Calder, with her efforts keeping the game within arms reach at times. Despite what the scoreboard may say, the game was a constantly tight, with the feeling that Northern was still very much in the game as both teams had periods where they\u2019d be on top of the arm wrestle.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ranges had plenty of contributors in the victory, arguably none more so than <\/span><b>Alyssia Pisano <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who ended the game with three goals. The midfield did well to continue piling on pressure, with <\/span><b>Bridget Deed, Jorja Livingstone, Keeley Sherar <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Ruby O\u2019Dwyer <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">winning plenty of it and getting involved defensively. They were well served by ruck <\/span><b>Georgia Campbell <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who looked strong around stoppages, while <\/span><b>Mia Busch <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was a strong rebounding option, coming out of defence to impact the ball further up the ground.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Northern will be happy with the performance of midfielders <\/span><b>Ava Jordan <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Maeve Chaplin <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who won plenty of the ball, with Chaplin finding her way into the backline later in the piece. The Stingrays were unable to keep Geelong from scoring, stacking on 17 additional scoring shots after the first quarter. The effort sees the Falcons continue their finals campaign against the GWV Rebels next week.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Stingrays, despite the loss, were well served by a few. Defensive trio <\/span><b>Jaide Anthony, Jemma Radford <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Zoe Hill <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">battled hard all day, looking to create anything they could out of the defensive 50, with <\/span><b>Olivia Robinson, Felicity Crank <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Ashleigh Richards <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">playing big parts in the midfield and forwardline, not afraid to push up the ground and help out the defensive half.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Falcons, unsurprisingly, had plenty of contributors in the impressive victory, with <\/span><b>Tess Craven <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Poppy Schaap <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the major ball winners through the middle of the ground and up forward. <\/span><b>Gabbi Featherston <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was also lively in the forward half, rotating through the ruck at times. <\/span><b>Ash Van Loon <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Charlotte Simpson <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">were consistent workhorses through the midfield, putting in impressive performances that suggest the Falcons are in good hands next year with these two at the forefront.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<b>GOALS:<\/b>\r\n\r\n<b>Dandenong: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A. The Rebels did not make the most of their chances last week, but they certainly started to capitalise down at Windsor Park in Launceston, as <strong>Paige Scott<\/strong> ran rampant booting four goals &#8211; including three in less than five minutes during the second term &#8211; to be the difference between the sides.\r\n\r\n<strong>Lilli Condon<\/strong> had a massive last term to cap off another sensational day, while <strong>Chloe Leonard<\/strong> and <strong>Tahlia Meier<\/strong> were ever-present in the midfield, and<strong> Nyakoat Dojiok<\/strong> and <strong>Ella Friend<\/strong> provided marking targets in the back half of the ground. For Tasmania, the midfield of <strong>Claire Ransom<\/strong>, <strong>Perri King<\/strong> and <strong>Ella Maurer<\/strong> ticked along nicely, while <strong>Charlotte Dennis<\/strong> was rock solid on the last line, and <strong>Amy Prokopiec<\/strong> kicked 2.3 in what was an impressive, hard-working effort up forward.
