\n\n\nTHE South Australian National Football League (SANFL) announced its Phase 2 Under 19 squad<\/a> on Wednesday, with 33 of the state’s brightest prospects making the cut. An internal trial game<\/a> on Friday night helped decide the final few selections, albeit amid terrible weather for a showcase game, as SA prepares to face Western Australia on August 7 in Round 1 of this year’s Under 19 National Championships.\r\n\r\nGlenelg has contributed the most players, with seven Bays talents included in the squad. Among them is Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera<\/strong>, the nephew of Gavin Wanganeen<\/strong><\/em>, who performed strongly in last week’s trial. While he is not club linked, Adelaide has a pair of Next Generation Academy members – Isaiah Dudley<\/strong> and Blayne O’Loughlin<\/strong> – in the squad, while Port Adelaide father-son candidate Jase Burgoyne<\/strong> (son of Peter<\/strong><\/em>) also features.\r\n\r\nThere are six 2002-born players in line for representative honours, with three of them coming out of the Woodville-West Torrens program. Namely, they are talls Zac Phillips<\/strong> and Jordan Lukac<\/strong>, and Max Litster<\/strong>. Sturt’s Mani Liddy<\/strong> returns after a terrific trial outing, as does Centrals speedster Lachlan Grubb<\/strong>, while Glenelg’s Dayne McGary<\/strong> is an eye-catching selection once again.\r\n\r\nAmong the premier 18th-year talent, first pick candidate Jason Horne<\/strong> just about selects himself, while fellow South Adelaide guns Matthew Roberts<\/strong> and Arlo Draper<\/strong> could recover from their respective ankle injuries in the nick of time. Cooper Murley<\/strong> (collarbone) is another in that category, though fellow Norwood prospects Henry Nelligan<\/strong>, Ned Carey<\/strong>, and Alistair Lord<\/strong> will hope to get a look in for Phase 3 as they return later in the year.\r\n\r\nThere are a couple of stat leaders among the pack too, in North Adelaide’s Hugh Jackson<\/strong> (disposals, handballs, inside 50s) and Centrals tall Saxon Evans<\/strong> (hitouts). Both have been in undeniable form at Under 18s level, as have the likes of James Willis<\/strong> and Lewis Rayson<\/strong> – who loom as ones to watch.\r\n\r\nSouth Australia’s third selection phase will come prior to the state’s final batch of championships fixtures, which will take place in late-September as the squad travels to face against Vic Country and Vic Metro. The Croweaters are also set to take on the Allies during Phase 2.\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n
