2023/24 NBL Team Wrap series starts tomorrow

LAST weekend, the National Basketball League (NBL) wrapped up proceedings for the 2023/24 regular season, with the top six teams getting set for some postseason action in the coming weeks.

Melbourne United and the Perth Wildcats locked in the top two spots and will have some time off prior to the semi-finals starting. The Tasmania JackJumpers will host the Illawarra Hawks in the first play-in game, which will come with not only a chance for the winner to book a matchup with the Wildcats, but also a double-chance for the losing side, who will take on the winner of the elimination matchup between the New Zealand Breakers and the Sydney Kings.

However, it is season over for the remaining four sides, all of whom failed to sneak into the play-in despite some chances in the final weeks.

It has been one of the most entertaining seasons in NBL history, with the race for the finals coming down to the last round, and all 10 teams were a mathematical chance of making the postseason up until the penultimate round.

Now that the season has concluded, Rookie Me Central will begin a Team Wrap series, taking a look at all 10 teams as each’s season finishes in the coming weeks.

These articles will take a look at team performances, how the coach fared, MVP, most promising player and where the team goes from here.

Given they finished last in the standings, the first cab off the rank will be the SEM Phoenix, with their review set to drop tomorrow, so stay tuned for the first article.
