2024/25 NBL Team Preview series starts next week

ALTHOUGH last season’s decider feels like yesterday, the 2024/25 National Basketball League (NBL) fixture kicks off in less than two weeks.

Following this weekend’s NBL Blitz preseason competition, the season opener will take place on the 19th of September, marking the beginning of HoopsFest, which is shaping as the biggest weekend in Australian basketball history.

Although the official preseason starts tomorrow, some teams have been putting their craft to the test in exhibition games over the past few weeks, and it is evident that the landscape of the competition will be shaken up.

With a seriously large number of off-season moves made in the past few months, the competition looks as even as ever, with even the underperforming teams from the previous fixture making eye-catching additions to their squads.

With that in mind, Rookie Me Central will be putting each team under the microscope ahead of the season opener, giving you the rundown on all 10 sides ahead of the 2024/25 fixture. Taking a look at each team’s prospects and key players for the upcoming season, readers should be ready to launch into the fixture when it begins in a couple of weeks.

The NBL looks set for another even season given the amount of teams that loaded up on proven talent over the off-season, and should make for one of the most exciting campaigns in competition history over the next few months.

Stay tuned for daily team previews starting Monday, with the Adelaide 36ers set to be the first cab off the ranks, adding key players over the off-season to create one of the most exciting starting lineups in the competition.
