THE 2024 National Basketball Association (NBA) Draft is rapidly approaching, with the draft order officially set and teams beginning their final preparations for one of the biggest events on the basketball calendar.

A new crop of players are set to join the world’s premier basketball competition and make their mark on the world stage. There are some seriously impressive prospects that will hear their names called next month, with the future generation of stars looming as tremendously exciting.

Headlining that list is former National Basketball League (NBL) Next Star Alexandre Sarr, who enjoyed a standout season with the Perth Wildcats recently, and is now touted as the number-one pick in this year’s draft crop. The Atlanta Hawks hold that selection and look likely to select the athletic big man as their future centrepiece.

With that in mind, Rookie Me Central will be previewing each team at the draft, with all 30 teams destined to add some exciting young talent to their rosters in June.

The series will start next week and take a look at each side’s draft hand, needs and potential selections as the future arrives for the NBA.

The first cab off the rank will be the Hawks, who stunned the NBA world by snagging the top pick last week, and are in the box seat to add the best young talent in the world on June 26 when the first round takes place, with the second round set to take place the following day.
