2025 NBA Draft Team Preview – Milwaukee Bucks

BRINGING just the one second-round selection to the 2025 NBA Draft, it will be a quiet couple of nights for the Milwaukee Bucks, who are in a tricky spot after falling short with a star-studded roster once again.
Despite the star pairing of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, the Bucks were unable to make a splash in the postseason, and the team may look to make some changes throughout the off-season in order to not fall behind the eight-ball.
Finishing as the fifth seed, the Bucks were unlucky to come up against the Indiana Pacers, who became the form team of the playoffs and are now in the NBA Finals, just three wins away from the championship as it stands. Milwaukee was their first victim, falling in five games in convincing fashion.
Now while their draft hand could change based on any potential trades they make ahead of the night itself, the Bucks have just the one pick as it stands, and will be looking to make the most of it in Chicago later this month.

The Bucks will have to wait a while before making their first selection at the 2025 NBA Draft, but could find a slider at that stage of proceedings given how deep the draft class is, and can still be a good method of adding a quality young player.
With Lillard sidelined for most of the season, the Bucks are in desperate need for shot creation, with the draft a strong place to find someone to fill this role, especially given the size of the contracts their stars are on.
Point guard Ryan Nembhard could be a strong option here, given his ability to find the bottom of the net at a consistent rate. He is an old-school point guard, showing creativity with ball in hand and being able to find his teammates with strong passing abilities.
Although he is undersized at five-foot-11, his ability to score and pass out of pick and rolls would be useful if paired with some of the team’s stars, and he could provide a much-needed boost to the team’s offence.
Another option could be John Tonje, with the shooting guard a prominent perimeter presence and a damaging offensive player, which the Bucks will need if Lillard is on the sidelines given his scoring contributions.
He was a serious three-point contributor for Wisconsin, nailing 85 triples as well as being reliable from the charity stripe, so if the Bucks need an injection into their offence, then Tonje could be the fix for the coming years.
