2025 NBA G League Elite Camp invitees announced

ONE OF the most unique paths to the NBA continues again this season, with the list of invitees announced for the G League Elite Camp, which is set to take place later this week.

It is a three-day event where NBA Draft prospects will get a chance to showcase their skills in front of scouts for both NBA and G League sides, and the standout performers will be then invited to the NBA Draft Combine, boosting their chances of selection in June.

The biggest positive to come out of the list is the inclusion of Lachlan Olbrich, who will head to Chicago to participate in the G League Elite Camp. Playing for the Illawarra Hawks in the NBL over the past two years, he has been an impressive performer off the bench, and played a vital role for the team in their championship run.

Throughout the 2024/25 season, he averaged 8.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists on 59 per cent shooting from the field, and at six-foot-10, has an impressive ability to score inside, although his ball-handling and playmaking make him a unique prospect.

Another familiar name for NBL fans who has been given an invite is Malique Lewis, who has recently completed his stint with the SEM Phoenix as a member of the Next Stars program. He cemented a spot in the starting lineup in seemingly no time at all, and was an excellent piece with his ability to cut to the basket and finish at the cup.

He posted numbers of 6.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.5 blocks per game on 42.6 per cent shooting from the field, and showcased an impressive athletic profile and excellent defensive traits throughout his time with the Phoenix.

There have been plenty of players to emerge from the G League Elite Camp with an NBA contract, such as Terence Mann, Andrew Nembhard, Max Strus and Caleb Martin, all of whom have proven strong performers at the top level.

The combine will take place in Chicago this weekend, where the action will include five-on-five scrimmages, as well as strength and skill tests.
