THE 2024 National Basketball Association (NBA) Draft is rapidly approaching, with each team making their final preparations ahead of adding some young talent to the best competition in the world.

There are some seriously impressive prospects available, with the crop stretching all around the globe as more international players begin to gain recognition. Suddenly, the collegiate system is not the only method to joining the NBA, which has allowed a broader range of players to compete at the top level.

With the NBA wrapping up the 2023/24 season as we speak, the teams already eliminated have spent the past few weeks considering which players they will select to prepare for the future, and the recent Draft Lottery saw the official order determined.

With that in mind, Rookie Me Central will be taking a look at each team and how their draft will potentially pan out on June 26-27. With all 30 sides in their own unique situation, there is plenty to unpack ahead of the next injection of exciting players.

Kicking off the teams for the week are the New York Knicks, who will be boosted by consecutive picks in the first round courtesy of a previous trade with the Dallas Mavericks.

The Knicks have been a mainstay in the playoffs for the past few seasons, and have built a strong roster around their superstar point guard in Brunson. With three picks at the 2024 NBA Draft, the Knicks will add young pieces that could prove valuable in the future.

New York has back-to-back picks at 24 and 25, giving the team flexibility in its draft selections and with a relatively deep draft class, the Knicks should be in a strong position to keep their competitiveness going for the future.

Given the team has multiple picks, Aussie Johnny Furphy could be an option. Although he is a raw prospect, the Knicks could afford to take a punt on him due to his impressive upside as a damaging perimeter presence. He has been one of the biggest risers of the draft class, and is worthy of a first round selection.

Another option around the same mark is Kyshawn George, a six-foot-eight wing that has shown a bit as a three-point shooter. Although he is not the most explosive player and was inefficient inside the arc last season, his ability to find the bottom of the net from behind the arc as well as handle the ball and make tight passes make him an enticing prospect.

If he is available, Pacome Dadiet would be a nice selection at pick 33. The French wing has shown plenty in his German League and EuroCup campaign, and with impressive size (six-foot-eight) and an eye-catching motor, the Knicks could get the best out of his potential, as it is obvious he has a high ceiling.
