A MONSTER performance from Kendric Davis has helped the Adelaide 36ers secure a much-needed win in Round 12 of the National Basketball League (NBL) action over the weekend.
Davis and the Sixers hosted the New Zealand Breakers at Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Saturday evening, with both sides looking to get back on the winners’ list. Adelaide had been out of form since Davis and Montrezl Harrell were handed suspensions for an altercation with a member in the crowd a few weeks ago, while the Breakers had lost five on the trot and were sliding down the ladder at a rapid pace.
It was the Sixers’ performance in the second and fourth quarters that proved the difference, with the home side outscoring New Zealand by 26 in those periods. Adelaide finally had its mojo back and cruised home to a 17-point win and putting the team back within striking distance of the top six after dropping out with an undermanned roster.
Davis was exceptional for the second game in a row, finally getting reward for effort after being a standout in a loss the week before.

Kendric Davis – 36 points, five rebounds, 11 assists
Davis produced one of the strongest statlines of NBL25 in the win over the Breakers, somehow topping his efforts in last week’s loss to the Perth Wildcats.
His second quarter performance ended up defining the match, dropping 15 points on the eve of half time to help the Sixers claim a significant lead at the main change. He was hitting three-pointers for fun, stepping back over the opposition and showing some serious range.
The fourth quarter saw Davis thrive with his ability to draw contact and generate points from the free throw line. The import guard often forced the defender out of position and was able to get to the charity stripe where he made the defence pay, particularly late in the piece when the game was still in the balance.
He shot 10/16 from the field, 5/9 from three and 11/13 from the free throw line to be the game’s leading scorer, posting 36 points and 73 in his last two outings to be one of the form players of the competition.
He leads the NBA in assists at 7.15 per game, and added another 11 against the Breakers on Saturday. He formed an unstoppable tandem with Harrell (21 points, 11 rebounds, five assists) in pick and roll plays and used his creativity to help the Sixers to a triple-figure score.
Davis is one of the most gifted players in the NBL, and has put together a string of dominant performances of late to emerge as one of the most dangerous offensive threats in the entire competition.
