Tshiebwe towers over opponents in excellent season

UTAH Jazz two-way center Oscar Tshiebwe was a standout for the Salt Lake City Stars throughout the 2024/25 G League season, stamping his claim as the best big man in the competition and showing he is a class above his peers in many ways.
The premier frontcourt player over the past six months, Tshiebwe was a force to be reckoned with for the stars, making incredible leaps in his development and making a case to the Jazz that he could be worthy of minutes in the NBA.
After going undrafted in 2023, he signed with the Pacers and played with the Indiana Mad Ants, immediately impressing with his interior scoring and rebounding. He moved to the Jazz in 2024, and has put together an even better campaign with Salt Lake City.
An old-fashioned big man, Tshiebwe was able to make an impact in the paint on both ends of the floor, proving unstoppable on the glass while also showing excellent touch around the basket to get involved on the scoring front as well.
In the G League this season, Tshiebwe averaged 17.1 points and a whopping 19 rebounds per game, including 8.3 on the offensive end, generating plenty of his scoring through second chances and putback shots.
He delivered a standout showing against the Capitanes in March, posting 37 points and 26 rebounds to lead the Jazz to top spot in the West, and although they relinquished that position later in the season, it showed how much of an impact he was having for Salt Lake.
His physicality was a massive tool to his success, throwing his weight around on a nightly basis to get the edge over his opponent and intimidate the other team when looking to score inside the paint or pull down a rebound.
He improved his efficiency from the field and from the free throw line, becoming a much more impactful scorer from the field. Tshiebwe also averaged 6.2 second chance points per game, which was instrumental in getting the Stars to a winning score.
Salt Lake City finished with a record of 21-13, which was good enough for the third seed in the Western Conference, but they were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs by the Austin Spurs. Tshiebwe had a double-double in both of their postseason matches, recording 38 for the season in a pure display of dominance.
His efforts in the G League even warranted a start in the NBA late in the 2024/25 season, posting seven points and 10 rebounds for the Jazz in an encouraging performance. He has certainly put Utah and other NBA sides on notice with another exceptional season, and teams at the top level in search of a productive big man will certainly have to take Tshiebwe into consideration.
