IN A fitting conclusion to the 2025/26 National Basketball League (NBL) season, the Championship Series will take place between two of the best performing teams of the year, with the Sydney Kings set to lock horns with the Adelaide 36ers.
Both sides were victorious in their recent semi-final outings, with the Kings defeating the Perth Wildcats in two games, while the Sixers managed to make it past the SEM Phoenix in three games over the past week, setting up a blockbuster decider.
The Championship Series will be best-of-five, with the ultimate prize on the line. Given the strength of both sides, there is every chance that all five matches will be needed to separate the teams and determine the true winner of NBL26.
It is shaping as a close series, as demonstrated by some epic encounters between the teams throughout the 2025/26 season. All three encounters between the two sides have been decided by six points or less, and there will be at least another three chapters added to the story of the Kings and the Sixers in the coming weeks.
With star power on both sides, the first and second placed teams will lock horns in the deciding series, with the winner lifting the Championship trophy in the coming weeks. The series kicks off at Qudos Bank Arena on Saturday night, and both sides will be looking to take the upper hand early.
