All-NBA G League honours for Jones in standout season

IT WAS a successful season for Sacramento Kings two-way big man Isaac Jones during his time with the Stockton Kings in the G League, leading his side to a title on the back of an outstanding individual campaign and being named to the All-NBA G League Third Team in the process.
The 24-year-old forward was immense for Stockton throughout the 2024/25 season, producing some big games and helping his side reach the postseason, before turning it on in the playoffs to play a key role in securing the championship.
After going undrafted in 2024, he signed a two-way contract in July of last year with Sacramento, but spent most of the start of the season with the team’s G League affiliate in Stockton, marking his first campaign at a professional level.
He was a standout in his rookie season, making an immediate impact with the team and showing why the Kings demonstrated interest post-draft. Stockton was a much better team in the first months of the season with Jones in the frontcourt, and he proved to be a double-double machine at G League level.
He earned the team’s first G League Player of the Week award, largely due to a massive 42-point eruption and multiple 30-point performances in what was an immense patch of form for the rookie. Opposition teams simply had no answer for his work inside the paint, and he was becoming one of the most influential big men in the competition.
Also in January, he was selected for the G League Next Up game, which showcases the best rookies and youngsters in the competition in a one-off performance. Jones ended up being a part of the winning Team Braxton and showed just as much on the offensive end as he had done throughout the regular season.
Throughout the 2024/25 G League season, Jones posted numbers of 21.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 57.3 per cent from the field, 26.3 per cent from behind the arc and 71.8 per cent from the charity stripe, doing all of this in just 12 games.
During the G League Finals, he took his game to another level, showcasing his traits as a big game player and proving the definitive performer in the decisive game. In the do-or-die game three against the Osceola Magic, Jones posted 21 points and 13 rebounds in a huge performance, stepping up with the championship on the line and delivering on the big stage.
His hard work was rewarded in March, when Sacramento converted his two-way deal into a standard NBA contract, with the team seemingly impressed by his play. Although he did not get much playing time, his form in the G League and the conversion of his contract suggest there will be more opportunities in the future.
