Bulleen looking to go bang with third win

THE standings for the Big V Women’s competition are fairly tight after two rounds of play, with a few sides vying for a top spot. There are two teams currently unbeaten so far, and they are set to face off on Sunday in a blockbuster clash. McKinnon will head to East Doncaster Secondary College to take on Bulleen, with the winner likely sitting at the head of the table. It is shaping up to be a cracking affair, with both sides playing some exciting basketball to kickstart the season. If they can bring some of that on Sunday, then fans will be treated to one of the games of the year.

Bulleen vs McKinnon
Sunday, April 3 @ 1pm
East Doncaster Secondary College

As mentioned above, Bulleen and McKinnon will go head to head at East Doncaster Secondary College on Sunday afternoon, in a hotly anticipated clash. They have been the two strongest performing sides for the season’s start, but only one side can remain undefeated come the end of the round, so it is a crucial win to take home. With guns on both sides, expect some high scoring and exciting play for all four quarters, with neither side likely to leave anything on the court.

Bulleen has started the season in strong fashion, emerging victorious in its first two outings to sit nicely at the top of the ladder heading into Round 3. What is even more encouraging is the fact that both have come in convincing fashion, with a nice percentage next to their name. They will face a tougher opponent on Sunday, with McKinnon also starting the season reasonably well, but if they can bring more of what we’ve seen in the opening couple of clashes, then it should serve them well. Last time out, they had five players score in double-digits, so there will be plenty of avenues to scoring.

McKinnon will have its work cut out with Bulleen in good form, but the visiting side has also started well. They have two wins from two games and are certainly looking to continue their hot start in Round 3. With a tough opponent on the cards, they will need to bring their A-game, but we have seen that it is absolutely good enough when they are on song. They snuck past Chelsea in Round 2 with a strong first half, but Bulleen present an even bigger challenge. Morgan Ili and Jacinta Vandenberg combined for 35 points last week, and will need to do something similar if they are to get the job done here.

Along with the game featured above, there is still plenty more basketball action to enjoy around Victoria, with some of the state’s best female talents set to hit the court.
