Cotton takes control in DC Medal voting

PERTH Wildcats star Bryce Cotton was considered unlucky not to win last season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award. To-date, Cotton has picked up where he left off in 2018/19 and produced an impressive start to the season to lead our Draft Central (DC) Medal count following four rounds.

A couple more impressive performances for the Wildcats saw Cotton move to 12 votes for the season on a 3-2-1 voting system from each game, two votes clear of Melbourne United center, Shawn Long. Last year’s actual MVP, Andrew Bogut was next with nine votes, equal-third with South East Melbourne Phoenix’s Mitch Creek. Rounding out the top six, Creek’s teammate John Robertson, Illawarra pocket rocket, LaMelo Ball and Cairns’ Scott Machado.

Looking ahead to Round 5, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane all have double-up games, which gives players a chance to catch up to Cotton and the other leaders.
