2026 NBA Draft prospect Dash Daniels has produced another standout performance for the Sandringham Sabres in the NBL1 South Men’s over the weekend, playing a key role as his side defeated the Casey Cavaliers by three points.
Daniels has been one of the biggest stories of the NBL1 season to date, with the younger brother of NBA Most Improved Player Dyson Daniels looking just as impressive of a draft prospect at this stage of his young career.
His injection has been a huge boost for the Sabres, who have benefited from his impressive scoring ability and claimed the wins to match, although they would be in enemy territory at Casey Stadium against the Cavaliers on Friday night.
The home side got off to a dream start, dropping 30 points in the opening frame to lead by nine at quarter time, before the Sabres cut that to three in the second term. The third period proved decisive within the context of the match, with Sandringham outscoring the hosts 24-14 in that time, and although the Cavaliers did well to fight back in the final term, they fell three points short.
Still coming off the bench, Daniels was an immense figure for the Sabres, dropping the second-most points of any player in the match, and showing maturity beyond his years in a performance that would have NBA scouts impressed.

Dash Daniels – 25 points, four rebounds, one steal
Putting in a tremendous scoring performance, Daniels played a huge role in the Sabres getting the job done, showcasing his ability to be as productive as anyone on the offensive end, and exciting for his upcoming campaign with Melbourne United.
The young gun was brought into the game four minutes into the first quarter, but unfortunately turned the ball over shortly thereafter in a disappointing start to his match. However, he bounced back by getting into the paint and nailing a nice floater to open his account, before following that up with his first triple of the contest in a solid start to his outing.
The second frame saw Daniels start on the bench again, but he made an impact in the second half of the quarter. The NBL Next Star splashed home his second three-pointer of the match, showing no hesitation after being found on the perimeter by David Barlow. Daniels then backed it up with yet another bomb from long range in a superb display of shooting, before dragging the Sabres within three points at the main change with a layup in transition to beat the halftime buzzer.
It was a quiet third quarter for Daniels, spending much of the frame on the quarter and not troubling the scorers when on the floor. However, the Sabres were able to build on his efforts from the second period and take the lead heading into the all-important fourth.
With the game on the line in the final 10 minutes of the contest, it was Daniels who stepped up for the Sabres, showing a knack for drawing contact and converting at the free throw line, doing so on several occasions early in the frame.
He also showed his clutch capabilities in the dying minutes of the game, nailing a go-ahead floater with 90 seconds on the clock in what proved to be a huge bucket. Despite being 17 years of age, he showed excellent composure with the game on the line, nailing four consecutive free throws to win the game for the Sabres.
He finished the contest with 25 points (12 in the defining fourth quarter), four rebounds and an important steal in the fourth quarter, all while shooting 7/12 from the field, 3/4 from behind the arc and 8/10 from the charity stripe. Daniels simply continues to impress and is undoubtedly shaping as a top-10 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
