NBL Team Overview: Tasmania JackJumpers

THE upcoming season of the National Basketball League (NBL) is just around the corner, with the season opener slated for December 2. As the NBL Blitz pre-season campaign comes to a close, sides across the league will be finalising their preparations for their NBL22 campaigns. With that said, it is time for us to take one final look at each team, and how they are faring heading into the upcoming season. The final team we take a look at in this series is the Tasmania JackJumpers, who will be gearing up for their debut season in the NBL as the competition expands for the upcoming season.

For the second time in three years the NBL is introducing an expansion team, with the JackJumpers gearing up for their first ever season in the league. Tasmania has been calling out for its own side in the competition for years, and those prayers have been answered. As with all sides in their first few seasons, there is not much expected of the JackJumpers given it will likely take some time for them to adjust and find their feet within the league.

The team’s recruiting appears to be a tick so far, having uncovered gems such as Adams, Magette and McIntosh. This trio appears to be a key part of the team’s plans for the future, having impressed in the NBL Blitz competition, where the side recorded two wins from their five matches. Another boost for the team will be if Magnay is fit and firing, given the impact he has shown in the past. Overall, the JackJumpers will be eager to kick things off in the season opener, and will be hoping they can surprise the league in their maiden campaign.
