SNAPSHOT

A six-foot-nine forward who brings plenty of effort whenever he hits the basketball court, Rasheer Fleming is a valuable prospect at the 2025 NBA Draft for teams looking to find someone to fill the gaps in their game on the hustle side of things.

Although he has not played against many high-end teams throughout his collegiate career, the forward certainly has the skillset to become a valuable role player at NBA level, and could be what some of the contending teams are missing on their roster.

DRAFT PROFILE

Fleming grew up in Camden, New Jersey, and played basketball at Camden High School, making waves for his two-way impact and physical presence. He also played for the NJ Scholars Elite AAU team, showcasing how highly he was rated locally.

That attention spread to college programs, with Fleming receiving offers from the likes of Albany, Siena and Towson, before settling on the Saint Joseph's Hawks in Philadelphia. Although not the most well-known school, it would give him the chance to truly showcase his skills as a key figure for the team.

It was a slow start for Fleming, who came off the bench for the Hawks in the opening stages of his Freshman season. However, he was elevated into the starting lineup in the power forward position halfway through the season, and improved even further in his Sophomore and Junior campaigns.

During his final NCAA campaign, Fleming averaged 14.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.5 blocks per game, while shooting 53.1 per cent from the field, 39 per cent from three-point land and 74.3 per cent from the charity stripe.

STRENGTHS

+ 'Glue guy' skillset
+ Spot up shooting
+ Defence
+ Consistent effort

IMPROVEMENTS

- Scoring consistency
- Shot creation

One of the biggest drawing points in Fleming's game is how well his game should fit onto any team, looking like a great role player who can slot into any rotation. With his ability to fill multiple positions and do some of the dirty work, he can be a great complimentary piece.

He has plenty of upside as a spot-up shooter, nailing 41 per cent of his catch and shoot triples when unguarded throughout his collegiate career which is an extremely promising sign. If he can pair with a pass-first point guard, it will open up a lot of avenues for him in the future.

He averaged over a block and a steal per game in his final college season, and is consistently popping up to make plays on that side of the ball. Fleming makes the most of his impressive size and wingspan and makes opposition players think twice when driving inside the paint.

He can be inconsistent as a scorer at times, and it is largely due to not being reliable when driving inside, which is a major downfall for his position. If he can hold onto the ball and demonstrate better touch around the rim, it will elevate his game.

DRAFT PROJECTION: Late first/early second round

The forward has the skillset that can be converted to the top level, likely slotting into a team that already has its offensive plans sorted for the future, and if he can improve his effectiveness when scoring the ball inside the arc, it will be a massive boost.
