After being bundled out of the first week of the finals last time around, the UC Capitals will be hoping to avoid history repeating itself by making a run further into the finals this coming season.
The Capitals have had a very active off season recruiting wise. They have a lost a lot of talent and experience, but gained plenty in return.
Although Keely Frolling has departed alongside Marianna Tolo and Maddy Rocci, her twin Alicia is among the Capitals’ recruits for the upcoming season. LA Sparks guard Britt Sykes is Canberra’s import, while Shaneice Swain also joins the Capitals.
WNBL games record holder Kelly Wilson returns after having a baby, while Alexandra Bunton has also come out of retirement, after she retired in 2019 on the end of a horrible run with injury.
First up, they face the Sydney Uni Flames this coming Sunday. There will be extra spice in the clash, as it will be a battle of the Froling twins, Keely and Alicia. Since both sisters are at new sides this season, they will both will be desperately hoping to impress and beat their sibling.
Will the Capitals be able to go that little step further this season and make the last dance or even win the title? Stay tuned to find out.
