THE NBA Draft is just around the corner, in what shapes as one of the most anticipated selection nights in recent memory, thanks to a talented crop of up and comers set to have their dreams realised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With that in mind, Rookie Me Central <\/em>will be previewing each side ahead of draft night on June 22, unpacking all 30 teams’ needs and potential selections as they look towards the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the strongest placed sides in the draft order are the Utah Jazz, who will be looking to add to a young roster that was looking like making a push into the playoffs before a late season fadeout. However, they head into the draft with one of the strongest hands in the first round, and should add multiple quality players to the mix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n 9, 16, 28<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson (player option), Kelly Olynyk, Talen Horton-Tucker (player option), Rudy Gay (player option), Ochai Agbaji, Simone Fontecchino, Walker Kessler, Damian Jones (player option), Udoka Azubuike, Kris Dunn, Luka Samanic, Johnny Juzang (qualifying offer), Micah Potter (two-way contract)<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Jazz have a trio of picks in the first round and will be able to add a wealth of young talent to a team that showed plenty of promise over the past season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With its first selection, Utah will be able to add a top-10 talent, and with some impressive talent in the frontcourt in Kessler and Markkanen, could add a strong guard to pair with Sexton and Clarkson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the most appealing options on this front could be Gradey Dick<\/strong>, who would compliment the team’s pieces well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n A strong perimeter player, Dick would offer plenty of spacing around the team’s frontcourt stars. Last season in the NCAAM, he shot 40 per cent from behind the arc, and has a game that would slot in nicely to the Jazz’s system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another option could be Anthony Black<\/strong>, who would offer playmaking and defence as a guard. He can play either of the backcourt positions, and while many teams may prefer him as a point guard, he can contribute as a strong lockdown defender, while having enough explosiveness to attack downhill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With the 16th pick, the Jazz could look to add in a solid power forward to play in between Markkanen and Kessler, and fitting that bill is Noah Clowney<\/strong>.
