THE Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) season delivered one of the most exciting campaigns in recent memory, with the action going down to the wire in more than one aspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a thrilling race for the finals, that level of unpredictability rolled into the postseason, where there were upsets, big performances and even buzzer-beaters, as Australia’s premier female basketball competition delivered in a big way again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the end, the Southside Flyers<\/a> emerged champions of the 2023\/24 season, producing a dominant performance in game three of the Grand Final series, defeating the Perth Lynx<\/a>, who almost pulled off a heist from fourth place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There were some massive individual campaigns as well, with Melbourne Boomers<\/a> import Jordin Canada<\/a> taking out the Most Valuable Player Award. The guard averaged 15.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 7.6 assists across 18 games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With the season done and dusted, Rookie Me Central <\/em>will begin its annual team wrap series, unpacking the performance of each club throughout the fixture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n With an extremely tight competition throughout, each team will have plenty of positives, as even the bottom sides caused some stirring upsets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a similar vein to our NBL team wraps, we will be dissecting each team’s performance throughout the season, picking an MVP, analysing the team’s head coach, and judging where each club will go from here heading into next season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first cab off the rank tomorrow will be the UC Capitals<\/a>, who did have some bright moments in a tough campaign.
