THE BRISBANE Bullets<\/a> have lost their seventh consecutive game, going down 98-66 to fourth place Melbourne United<\/a> in the first game of the week in the National Basketball League (NBL) last night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sitting last on the ladder with six wins and 21 losses, an injury plagued season has left Brisbane scrambling for replacements, which has negatively affected how the team plays. With the team’s rotations never being stable, their dynamic and on court chemistry has been yet to develop, whilst other sides have had all season to develop that cohesion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Casey Prather<\/a>, Tyrell Harrison<\/a> and Javon Freeman-Liberty<\/a> all being out, once again Hunter Maldonado<\/a> and Terry Taylor<\/a> were expected to go out and generate points, but Melbourne\u2019s defence proved too much for the two as neither of them shot above 35 per cent from the field, Taylor having five while Maldonado had 11. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the two main scoring options not being able to find their groove, Jacob Holt<\/a>, who averages 7.8 points a game for the season, had a career high 23 points, on an impressive 90 per cent from the field. Holt’s play would be one of the only upsides for Brisbane, as they would shoot a collective 36 per cent from the field and 28 percent from three. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

United looked to be back in top form for the game, showing pure dominance from the start. Tyson Walker<\/a> guided the game offensively, while defensively putting pressure on the opposition to grab two steals. As always, Chris Goulding<\/a> showed his shooting prowess with 13 points, shooting 50 per cent from three. Dash Daniels<\/a> started his second game in a row, putting in nine points on 66 per cent efficiency, while Finn Delany<\/a> also impressed with a solid 15 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With just a couple games left for NBL26, Brisbane will hope to get a few more wins before season’s end, while United will get ready for finals. As shown, Melbourne looked to be in top form, and this game might just have been its statement to say that it is back. If it is able to get a winning streak going before finals, then an in-form Melbourne United team is very hard to beat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
