Premier Women’s 2nds and 3rds wrap: Round 8

LAST weekend saw a double header of T20 matches for everyone across both the second and third eleven competitions. In part two of this wrap up, we take a look at how everyone went in their second match of the rain affected double header, and then look ahead to the first weekend of action of action in the new year.

Box Hill

2nd XI

EMP made 7/42 off their 11 overs, and Box Hill were able to reach the target with an over and a half to spare. Captain Emma Stilve was again the pick of the bowlers for Box Hill, taking 2/4 off three overs. This included one maiden.

3rd XI    

Essendon Marribyrnong Park batted first, and were able to make 3/61 off their 12 overs. In reply, Box Hill only got 8 overs, but were able to make their target and get the win. Kate Schie was the best of the Mustang bowlers, taking 2/11 off her four overs, which included two maidens.

Carlton

2nd XI

Carlton’s 2nd XI had the bye in game two last Sunday.

3rd XI    

Carlton’s 3rd XI game against Dandenong got abandoned due to the weather.

Dandenong

Both Dandenong’s 2nd and 3rd XI games got abandoned due to the weather.

Essendon Maribyrnong Park

2nd XI

EMP made 7/42 off their 11 overs, and Box Hill were able to reach the target with an over and a half to spare.

3rd XI    

Essendon Maribyrnong Park batted first, and were able to make 3/61 off their 12 overs. In reply, Box Hill only got 8 overs, but were able to make their target and get the win. Captain Natalie Grero top scored with 32, while Sarah Curwood took 2/10 off two overs.

Geelong

2nd XI

Geelong batted first against Prahran, and were able to make 1/80 off 9.5 overs. In reply, Prahran could only make 3/59.

3rd XI    

After Geelong made 21 off their five overs, Prahran’s Duckworth-Lewis target was set at 32. Prahran were only able to make 28 off their five overs, handing Geelong the win.

Melbourne

2nd XI
Melbourne’s 2nd XI game got abandoned due to the weather.

3rd XI    

Melbourne’s 3rd XI had the bye in game two last Sunday.

Plenty Valley

2nd XI

Ringwood restricted Plenty Valley to 3/37 off 10 overs, then reached the target just shy of seven overs without losing a wicket.

3rd XI

Plenty Valley’s 3rd XI game got abandoned due to the weather.

Prahran

2nd XI

Geelong batted first against Prahran, and were able to make 1/80 off 9.5 overs. In reply, Prahran could only make 3/59.

3rd XI    

After Geelong made 21 off their five overs, Prahran’s Duckworth-Lewis target was set at 32. Prahran were only able to make 28 off their five overs, handing Geelong the win.
