THIS week sees the final three rounds of the Women’s Premier Under 18 competition, now known as the Marg Jennings Cup, with a champion to be crowned later this week.
The Marg Jennings Cup sees 10 of the Premier Cricket clubs from both the men’s and women’s competitions competing for the inaugural title. The clubs competing are Prahran, Ringwood, Geelong, Carlton, Plenty Valley, Melbourne, Box Hill, Greenvale Kangaroos, Essendon Maribyrnong Park and Dandenong.
Round 1 took place just before Christmas, with the competition to resume tomorrow. Round 1 saw wins to Melbourne, Box Hill, Greenvale Kangaroos, Essendon Maribyrnong Park and Dandenong.
Many players that you will see competing in the Marg Jennings Cup this week are coming off competing in either the Premier Firsts Competition, the Under 15 Youth Premier League, or both. This includes Melbourne’s Zoe Samuel and Hasrat Gill, Box Hill’s Isabel White and Ashling O’Farrell, and Ringwood’s Hayley McLaughlin.
