Only two remain undefeated in Marg Jennings Cup
Only two sides remain undefeated in the Marg Jennings Cup after yesterday’s Round 3 action.
With no result out of the Prahran and Essendon Maribyrnong Park clash, let us take a look at what the other four matches served up yesterday.
Greenvale Kangaroos vs Dandenong
Batting first, the Kangaroos lost four wickets early to find themselves at 4/25. They never really recovered from there and were ultimately dismissed for 117.
For the Panthers, Poppy Gardner was the absolute star with the ball. She bowled 10 overs, of which four of them were maidens, and she took 4/16.
Acacia Sutton and Misha Campbell took two wickets each.
In reply, the chase was never really a challenge for Dandenong. They reached the target within 17 overs and lost only two wickets in the process.
Bella Woods and Isabella Shaw were the two wicket takers for Greenvale.
Plenty Valley vs Ringwood
It was Ringwood who batted first, and they were dismissed for 160 in the 42nd over.
Keely Miutescu made 51, Lauren Barclay made 33 and Haylee Landi made 24, but unfortunately for the Rams no one else really got a start.
For Plenty Valley, Anusha Joshi had another great game with the ball, taking 3/31 off her 8.4 overs. Ribhya Syan and Aanliya Cheeran took two wickets each.
In the chase, after a shaky start Plenty Valley steadied and were able to reach the target inside 39 overs. Syan’s 64 not out ensured the Bats got their second win in a row.
For the Rams, Rosie Sykes was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Lucy O’Meara and Ella Falvell took two each.
Carlton vs Geelong
Batting first, a 92 from Maddie Green helped guide the Cats to 176 before they were bowled out.

Mia Earl took 2/22 off seven overs, which included two maidens.
In reply, after a shaky start Carlton were able to steady but still ultimately fell short. They were bowled out for 160, with Bridie Groves top scoring with 57.
For Geelong, Katie Lindsay was the pick of the bowlers, nabbing 3/40 off eight overs
Box Hill vs Melbourne
Melbourne won the toss and batted first. A 69 from Zoe Samuel and a 54 from Annecy Homberg saw Melbourne post a very competitive 8/214 off their 50 overs.
Yashoda Senarathne was the pick of the Mustang bowlers with three, with Emma Stilve taking two.
In reply, Box Hill lost their first wicket without scoring a run, and that was a sign of things to come. They were bowled out for 124 in the 46th over. Katherine Dekel top scored for the Mustangs with 44.
Meanwhile for the Dees, Vaishnavi Pathania was the best bowler with three wickets. Samuel, Amelie O’Meara and Hasrat Gill all took two wickets.
