Round 9 could define the season in the Women’s 1sts

This weekend in the Women’s Firsts competition sees some potentially enthralling matches on the cards, including a match that may define the season of two clubs.

Box Hill vs Ringwood
Box Hill City Oval

This one might be a season defining match.

Last week Box Hill fell to Carlton while Ringwood almost caused the upset of the season against Melbourne.

Both sides are equal fourth on wins, but Ringwood’s better percentage sees them sit above the Mustangs at the moment.

Both sides have had a few losses recently, but need to get back on the winners list if they want to cement their place in the finals.

These two sides were meant to meet in Round 1 but the fixture was cancelled due to poor weather.

Melbourne vs Carlton
Albert Ground

It’s first versus second down at the Albert Ground as the Dees take on the Blues.

Last weekend Carlton got the win over Box Hill, while the Dees survived an almighty scare against the Rams.

This should be an enthralling clash as they have been the two best sides of the competition all season to date.

These two sides were meant to meet in Round 1 but the clash was scrapped due to the weather.

Essendon Maribyrnong Park vs Plenty Valley
Aberfeldie Park

Last weekend EMP caused the upset of the season to date against Carlton and will certainly be looking to build on that momentum this weekend.

Plenty Valley on the other hand are having a horrible season, and haven’t won a game yet. Although they haven’t got close to winning one all year, they will still be hoping to turn that around this weekend.

These two sides were meant to meet in Round 1 but the round was cancelled due to the weather.

Dandenong vs Prahran
Shepley Oval

Prahran will be looking to continue a good recent run of form, while Dandenong are looking to keep their season on track and win their fourth match in a row.

These two sides were meant to meet in Round 1 but the Round was cancelled due to the weather.
