NSW Metro reign supreme as inaugural World Cup Squad announced
YESTERDAY saw the conclusion of the Under 19 Female National Championships, with NSW Metro taking out the title.
Up against Vic Country in the final, they were set the task of chasing down Vic Country’s target of 10/182 with eight overs spare.
Player of the Final Zoya Thakur was the pick of the bowlers for NSW Metro, taking 4/32 off her nine overs, while Player of the Tournament Claire Moore belted 62 not out and Frankie Nicklin made 53 with the bat.
Meanwhile for Vic Country Jasmine Nevins hit 52 and also took a wicket in the loss.
Meanwhile in other results on the final day:
- South Australia defeated both Western Australia and Tasmania
- Queensland defeated ACT and Vic Metro
- Western Australia defeated the ACT
- Vic Metro defeated NSW Country.
The conclusion of the National Championships has also seen the 15 player squad selected for the inaugural Under 19 World Cup, set to take place next month.
A number of WBBL stars have made the squad, including Jade Allen, Lucy Hamilton and Rhys McKenna.
