U19 World Cup Day 4 Wrap: A lot still to be decided

DAY 4 at the Under 19 World Cup saw Groups B and C play their second matches, and with one match left to play for everyone these groups’ ladder positions are far from locked in.

Group B

New Zealand does it easy, make it 2/2

New Zealand has made it two comfortable wins from as many starts, downing Ireland by nine wickets.

After the Irish were bowled out for a mere 74, The White Ferns did it easy, not even needing seven overs to complete the task.

Natasha Codyre was chief destroyer with the ball for New Zealand – picking up the three wickets – while Natasha Wakelin picked up two.

Windies make it 2/2 with dominant win

The West Indies are also undefeated after they dominated Indonesia to win by 77 runs.

After the West Indies made 3/176 off their 20 overs, Indonesia were never really in the chase, finishing on 9/99.

The Indonesian total would have been even less if the West Indians had bowled straight, with the victors conceding a whopping 25 extras.

Zaida James top scored for the victors with 55, while Djenaba Joseph was the top wicket taker with three.

Group C

Rwanda scores historical first win

Rwanda has created history by recording its first ever World Cup win, defeating Zimbabwe by 39 runs.

After posting 8/119 from its 20 overs, Rwanda then bowled out Zimbabwe for 80.

Gisele Ishimwe top scored with 34 for Rwanda, while Henriette Ishimwe was chief destroyer with the ball (picking up four wickets) and Zurufat Ishimwe picked up two of her own.

Meanwhile for Zimbabwe Chipo Moyo picked up three wickets while Kudzai Chigora picked up two.

England make it 2/2

England remains undefeated after a 53 run win over Pakistan.

After the English posted 7/156 off their 20 overs, Pakistan only managed 5/103 off theirs.

Seren Smale top scored for the English with 37, while Sophia Smale was the top wicket taker with two.

Meanwhile Areesha Noor Bhatti, Zaibunnisa and Anosha Nasir all picked up two wickets for Pakistan and Syeda Aroob Shah top scored with 34.
