Ruthless Aussies seal series with dominant display

AUSTRALIA’s dominance just keeps growing in the T20 format, after demolishing Pakistan to seal the best of three series.

After a stellar display with the ball, the Australian batters did not have a tough task in the chase, ensuring the Aussies snared an eight-wicket win.

Although the Pakistanis managed to bat out their full 20 overs, they batted at a slow rate and lost wickets consistently.

In a remarkable sign of how Pakistan’s innings went, they finished their first ten overs at 1/47, but lost 6/49 in the second half of the innings to finish on 7/96.

Muneeba Ali Siddiqui top-scored for Pakistan with 33, but she was only one of three batters to make a double figure score for the tourists.

The Pakistanis could not get any help from the extras either, as the Australians bowled much better than they did in game one and only conceded five sundries.

In another sign of how straight the Australians were bowling, five of the seven wickets they took were either bowled or lbw. The other two wickets came via stellar catches taken by Darcie Brown.

Speaking of Brown, she was one of nine bowlers the Australians ended up using, with skipper Meg Lanning and keeper Beth Mooney the only members of the team to not roll the arm over.

Of those nine bowlers, the only ones to not pick up a wicket were Ellyse Perry (but her one over was a maiden), Megan Schutt and Tahlia McGrath. Alana King was the pick of the bowlers though, picking up two wickets.

Although the Australians lost two wickets in their chase, it was a mere speck on the radar as they reached the target in the 13th over.

Mooney (46) saw through most of the Australian innings and despite falling late, was ultimately still the top scorer. Meanwhile, Nida Dar was the only wicket taker for the tourists.
