DAY 3 at the T20 World Cup saw some more big wins on the board.

India got its campaign off to a winning start by beating rivals Pakistan, while Sri Lanka continued its strong start with a win over Bangladesh.

India win battle of the neighbours

India got its T20 World Cup campaign off to the ideal start, beating fierce rival Pakistan by seven wickets.

Pakistan chose to bat first, and did make a competitive tally of 4/149 from its 20 overs.

After losing a wicket early, things turned around for the Pakistanis and they went on to make that total.

Bismah Maroof was the star with the bat, making 68 not out, while Ayesha Naseem also made 43 not out.

Meanwhile for the Indians, Radha Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Pooja Vastrakar and Deepti Sharma picked up one each.

In reply, after a quick fire start the Indians cut it fine, but still reached the tally with an over to spare.

Jemimah Rodrigues was the star in the Indian chase, making 53 not out to help her side get over the line.

Meanwhile for the Pakistanis Nashra Sandhu picked up two wickets while Sadia Iqbal picked up one wicket.

Sri Lanka continue strong start to the tournament

Sri Lanka have continued their surprisingly good start to the tournament, this time defeating Bangladesh.

After they chose to bat first, the Bangladeshis struggled their way to 8/136 from their 20 overs.

Losing a wicket seven balls in was a sign of what was to come for Bangladesh, as no one could get much of a start for the Bangladeshis. The extras tally outscored all bar three batters, with Sobhana Mostary (29), captain Nigar Sultana Joty (28) and Shamima Sultana (20) they only ones to score more than the extras.

Meanwhile Oshadi Ranasinghe was chief destroyer for Sri Lanka with three wickets, with skipper Chamari Athapaththu even getting in on the action with two wickets of her own.

In reply the Sri Lankans certainly took their time reaching the tally, but easily made it there with 10 balls to spare.

Harshitha Samarawickrama was the key for the Sri Lankans, making 69 not out, while Silva also made a handy 41.

Marufa Akter was a shining light with the ball for Bangladesh, picking up all three three wickets.
