THE home summer schedule of the Australian women’s and men’s teams has been revealed, with plenty of international action between October and March.
In a slight deviation from tradition, the all-conquering Australian Women’s Team have the international stage to themselves for the first 10 weeks of the summer while the men’s team are over at the World Cup, not starting their summer season until mid-December.
The Australian women start their summer off with a T20 series and an ODI series against the West Indies, before the South Africans come to town in January. The Aussies will play a T20 Series, then an ODI Series and then a once-off Test against the South Africans, with Perth to host their first women’s test.
In another break from tradition, the women will play in more states than usual this summer, with Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide all getting matches for the first time in several years.
For the Australian men, it is test match series’ against Pakistan and West Indies on the cards for them, before they play both an ODI and T20 series against the West Indies to close out the summer of action in February.
