Another relatively soft matchup followed in game two, though Australia proved far more emphatic in its 225-run win. Batting first, the victors were spearheaded by opener and Player of the Match Harry Dixon (89), while first drop Hugh Weibgen (68) also posted a half-century in Australia’s total of 7-296. Zimbabwe was skittled for just 71 in response, as Harkirat Bajwa claimed team-best figures of 4-15 in his lone outing for the group stage.

In Australia’s third group stage game at The Oval, Sri Lanka backed itself to bat first against Australia’s potent bowling attack.
