REFRESHER | 2023/24 Sheffield Shield
THE 2023/24 Sheffield Shield season gets back underway on Saturday, with the first of four triple-headers kicking off around the nation. After 18 fixtures were played out from October to December, 12 more are on the way before the final on March 21.
Tasmania currently tops the table with each team having played six of their scheduled 10 matches. The Tigers boast one of three positive records in the competition alongside second-placed Western Australia and third-placed Victoria. The top two sides qualify for the final.
The Warriors will be out to claim a third consecutive Shield title to continue their dominance of the Australian men’s domestic scene. Before the remainder of the season plays out, catch up on where things sit and what’s to come in our Sheffield Shield refresher.

The teams with the best two home-and-away records will meet in a one-off final to decide who takes home the 2023/24 Sheffield Shield title. The minor premier earns hosting rights for the fixture starting on Thursday March 21.
