Mishra’s masterclass helps India to huge win

A MASSIVE bowling performance from India’s bowlers has seen the team pick up a first win of their women’s A series against Australia in the third ODI.

India made 9/243 from its 50 overs, before it bowled Australia out for just 72.

Despite their solid final total, the Indians got their innings off to the wort possible start, falling to 1/0 on the seventh ball of the innings.

It was not really until the fourth wicket where things really got going for the Indians, with Tejal Hasabnis and Raghvi Bist again piling on the runs. This time the pair put on a 104-run partnership to really lift the total. Sajana Sajeevan and Minnu Mani also put together a solid partnership. Putting on 62 runs for the sixth wicket to give the total a bit of a boost later in the innings.

Bist was ultimately the pick of the batters with 53, while Hasabnis made 50 and Sajeevan made 40.

Meanwhile for the Australians Maitlan Brown was again the best of the bowlers, this time with three wickets, while Nicola Hancock and Charli Knott took two wickets each.

Australia made a better start to its innings than India did, but once the wickets started to fall the floodgates really opened and the momentum train was impossible to stop.

In a sign of how dire things were for the Australians, the biggest partnership of the entire innings was 28 runs as the Indians raced through the Australian order. Maddy Darke was the top scorer with 22, but she was one of only three batters to make a double figure score.

Meanwhile for India Priya Mishra was the star with ball in hand, picking up 5/14 off five overs. Mani also picked up two wickets, while all the other bowlers used picked up a wicket each.
