THERE was a triple delight of matches yesterday at the T20 Spring Challenge, with the Hurricanes, Heat and Thunder all picking up a win.

Hobart hustles to win over Meteors

Hobart Hurricanes (7/126) defeated ACT Meteors (7/122)

Hobart has jumped to second on the Spring Challenge ladder after a three wicket win over the ACT Meteors.

The Hurricanes got the job done with a little bit of a buffer, but did only have 11 balls to spare, which is not a large buffer considering the size of the chase target.

Wicket taking duties were shared pretty evenly between the Hurricanes bowlers, with every bowler that was used picking up at least one wicket. Molly Strano and Beth Lane ultimately topped the tally though with two wickets each to their name.

Meanwhile for the Meteors Grace Dignam picked up a trio of wickets, but an extras count of 18 that included 14 wides really did the Meteors no favours.

Heat hop to top of table

Brisbane Heat (4/176) defeated Adelaide Strikers (6/175)

The Brisbane Heat are now top of the table for the Spring Challenge after a six wicket win over the Adelaide Strikers.

In the Battle of the Blue uniforms, the Heat ultimately had plenty of wickets in the shed, they certainly took their time to reach the target, reaching it with only seven balls left in the innings.

Georgia Redmayne was the star with bat in hand for the Heat, smashing 96 off just 55 balls, while earlier it was youngsters Ruby Strange (four wickets) and Grace Parsons (two wickets) doing the destruction with ball in hand.

Meanwhile for the Strikers Katie Mack’s 47 off just 33 balls got the Strikers’ innings off to a good start.

Sydney thumps Perth to pick up first win

Sydney Thunder (3/183) defeated Perth Scorchers (9/122)

The Sydney Thunder are on the board for the Spring Challenge after a 61 run win over the Perth Scorchers.

The Thunder were able to defend their stellar score and the efforts with the bat from the likes of Tahlia Wilson (81) and Anika Learoyd (60) with some stellar bowling from the likes of Hannah Darlington (three wickets), Taneale Peschel and Samantha Bates (two wickets each).

Meanwhile for the Scorchers Maddy Darke (40) tried her hardest to keep her side in the match but it was not enough as no one else was able to stick around with her.
