State of Play: 2024/25 One-Day Cup

THE 2024/25 One-Day Cup returns from its hiatus tomorrow, leaving as good a time as ever to get caught up on the state of play. South Australia, last season’s wooden spooner, currently tops the table, while three-time reigning champion Western Australia is struggling in last spot.

Tasmania and New South Wales will recommence the campaign at UTAS Stadium in Launceston after a two-month break. That standalone fixture is set to be followed by a pair of triple-headers on February 13 and 23. After that, the top two teams will face off for the title on March 1.

Queensland’s Matthew Renshaw leads the batting charts having notched a century in his last game before the break. He overtook New South Wales gloveman Josh Philippe, though the latter still boasts the season’s highest score after blasting 139 against former side, Western Australia.

In the bowling stakes, Sam Elliott‘s historic seven-wicket haul sees him lead all comers. Tasmanian allrounder Beau Webster is breathing down his neck with 11 poles at an average of just 5.81. His exploits have earned higher honours, as well as the Men’s Domestic Player of the Year award.
