Top two start to break away at 19s Nationals

YESTERDAY the competition at the Under 19 Female National Championships moved to one dayers after a day off, with a top two now starting to separate themselves from the rest. Today’s competition sees one more round of one dayers before finals kick off tomorrow.

NSW Metro vs Vic Country

NSW Metro still remains undefeated so far this competition after a 156-run win over Vic Country. Metro made 10/282 before restricting Country to just 10/126. Lucy Finn (109) and Kate Pelle (50) starred with the bat for Metro, while Juliette Morton took five wickets. Brooklyn Diwell picked up a whopping six wickets for Country while Hasrat Gill made 62.

Western Australia vs Queensland

Queensland is also undefeated so far this tournament after a six wicket win over Western Australia. After bowling the tournament hosts out for just 106, the Queenslanders reach the tally halfway through the 24th over. Amreen Kahlon took three wickets for Queensland while Molly Lincoln picked up two of them for Western Australia.

NSW Country vs Vic Metro

NSW Country has won its fourth match of the tournament after a six wicket win over Vic Metro. Metro was restricted to all out for 167, before Country reached that target with just over eight overs to spare. Ava Drury was pick of the victor’s bowlers with three wickets to her name, while Kate McTaggart made 76 not out. Noura Abdul Qader made 55 for Vic Metro, while Tegan Rule was the best of the bowlers with two wickets to her name.

ACT vs South Australia

South Australia now has a positive ledger this tournament after a 38-run win over the ACT. South Australia posted 7/290 from its 50 overs before the ACT had a fair crack at the tally but could only muster 9/252. Later Nicole Hobbs took a trio of wickets.

Matilda Maitland’s 125 was the backbone of South Australia’s innings, while Elizabeth Worthley also made 54. Stella Wilde took three wickets for the Canberrans, while openers Grace Lyons and Alana Horsfall made 42 runs each.

Papua New Guinea vs Tasmania

Papua New Guinea (PNG) is on the board in the tournament after defeating Tasmania. PNG was bowled out for 240, before it bowled out Tasmania for only 135. Dika Lohia top scored with 42 for PNG, while Hane Tau took three wickets. Meanwhile, Mia Barwick took two wickets for Tasmania.
