Australia names 2025 Women’s Ashes squad

AUSTRALIA has named 14 players who will don the green and gold for the Women’s Ashes White-Ball competition, which features three One Day Internationals and three Twenty20 International matches next month.

The strong squad sees the Aussies take on England in One Day Internationals across January 12, 14 and 17, before a second best-of-three series in the Twenty20 format. Those three matches will take place on January 20, 23 and 25.

Skipper Alyssa Healy will lead the side out once again, with minimal changes from recent series, though Georgia Voll is one who travelled to New Zealand for the recent series but did not feature, however impressed against India prior to that.

The Aussies will be minus Sophie Molineux who will head in for surgery with a knee complaint. The talented spinner returned earlier this year from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear, and will miss yet another Ashes series. Molineux did play two of the three one-dayers earlier this month but pulled up sore and missed the third match where it was revealed she would need surgery.

Australia’s only change out of the 14-player squad is allrounder Heather Graham, who was a late inclusion as backup for the third one-dayer against New Zealand. Meanwhile Grace Harris has been named for the Aussies, though will only take part in the Twenty20s, meaning the one-day sides will be selected from the 13 others named.

Australia squad (ODI/T20Is): Alyssa Healy (c), Darcie Brown, Ashleigh Gardner, Kim Garth, Grace Harris (T20s only), Alana King, Phoebe Litchfield, Tahlia McGrath (vc),  Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, Annabel Sutherland, Georgia Voll, Georgia Wareham
