Ireland vs. United States

Having gone winless in their debut tournament two years ago, the United States registered their first ever Women’s Under 19 World Cup win after downing Ireland by nine wickets.

After being sent to field first, the Americans restricted Ireland to 75 all out, before then reaching the target in the 10th over of their innings.

Isani Vaghela starred with the ball for the USA, taking three wickets, while Disha Dhingra blasted 46 off just 33 balls.

New Zealand vs. Nigeria

It was also a historic day for Nigeria, with the tournament debutants picking up the first win of their history.

In a rain shortened game, Nigeria first made 6/65, before New Zealand could only muster 6/63 after only scoring six of the nine runs required in the final over.

Lilian Ude played a key part in the win for Nigeria, as she was the bowler whose tight final over helped get her side over the line.

Scotland vs. Nepal

In the battle of Group D’s minnows, it was Scotland which opened its account after escaping with a one-wicket win over Nepal.

The Scots bowled Nepal out for just 73 and almost lost all their wickets in response, but reached the target with eight balls to spare.
